Midwest Book Review—“Very, Very Afraid” is a pastel painted, funny and only slightly scary story in verse about Sadie, a girl who feared monsters and decided to do something about it. Sadie is tired of being scared at night. She decides to go monster hunting, taking the initiative. Armed with her favorite pirate sword and fuzzy pink bedroom slippers, plus a trusty flashlight, Sadie searched the dark corners of her house to uncover monsters gold, green, pink and red. She demanded to know why they were making her afraid. The final answer she received is a flashlight surprise that will warm the hearts of all children who are enthralled by pink furry monsters.
